For me, finding the best home espresso machine was quite a challenge. I looked up various option, and while it is quite possible to find a wide range of good espresso machines, but finding the best home espresso machine? Now that is more of a challenge. The best home espresso machine should deliver a great cup of espresso every day which means it needs to have a strong pressure, well-built components and a good set of settings to be adjustable on the basis of your taste.
This machine is a fully automatic machine which integrates a burr grinder, allowing you to always have freshly ground coffee powder for the best tasting coffee. It has a good set of indicator lights as well as a display to show when the pressure has reached the optimal level for a perfect espresso.
Saeco Intelia HD8753/11
This is a top of the line machine including an adjustable burr grinder and a built-in milk jug for frothing milk. It has settings for at least 7 different types of coffees – with the integrated milk jug you can create cappuccinos, cafe au lait, and macchiatos. It is fully automatic including automated cleaning cycles which it will run at regular intervals by itself. The start-up times are minimal, which is critical for me in the morning when I can’t wait to have my first cup.
Rancillo Silva V3
This is a less automatic machine, it includes no grinder and therefore requires that one grinds beans separately. However, if you are looking for a really high-end machine that will require a bit more input from you but has the possibility to produce maybe the highest quality espresso – this is the one. The fully metallic and chrome components attracted me as they give the machine a really high-quality appearance. The triple thermostats and brass fixtures ensure that the temperature is kept constant and perfect for making a great cup of espresso.
So, what is the best home espresso machine? Well, all three machines above are the best in their own ways, but for me, my choice would be the Silva V3. It does require a bit more from me in terms of grinding beans correctly and managing the brew process, but in return it seems to deliver some of the highest quality espressos.
If you are a crazy espresso freak and you like the strong bold taste and delicious creamy crema on the top that you can only obtain from espresso, there are many espresso machines on the market for under $ 200. These machines are still avoidable while they seem to rival some of the expensive ones that sold beyond $500. The $200 price is good for an espresso machine. Machines going for these prices are moderate machines that do not include expensive bells and whistles of a super automatic machine. However, you will get a solid machine that includes most functionality needed to make any delicious drinks from macchiatos to cappuccinos to lattes. At $200, you can obtain a machine that includes milk frothier for your lattes. Although with $200 you will not get a powerful machine as those for $500, you will have solid machines that will serve most of your needs.
The best espresso machine under 200 include Mr. Coffee café Barista Espresso Maker, Nespresso Pixie Espresso Machine and DeLonghi EC702 15-Bar-Pump Espresso maker. Mr. Coffee café Barista Espresso Maker is a nice espresso maker that can act as the centerpiece of your kitchen as it is aesthetically pleasing and space saving. It is easy to use and entry level users need not to worry as the system comes with a one-touch control panel that allows the user to choose from a single-shot or double-shot espresso. It is really a great machine for the novice.
DeLonghi EC702 15-Bar-Pump Espresso maker is the most powerful espresso machine in this category and is more expensive as compared than most others that go for something less than $200. It is a nice espresso machine that can act as functional centerpiece for your kitchen countertop, coffee bar, or Kitchen Island
Nespresso Pixie espresso machine does not have much powerful functionality as compare to the two above but are still convenient machines. This espresso machine is well designed and includes a modern, space-age chrome design that makes your kitchen neat and beautiful.
